Homepage Image Submission

The focal point of the ORCI website homepage is an image or movie that conveys the use of cyberinfrastructure in research at U-M. We would like to refresh the image frequently and hope that you have some that you can share.

Examples of images are visualizations of simulations, examples of large data sets (e.g., fMRIs, or mined text data), or subjects of research using CI (e.g., population representations, galaxies, rocks, engineered materials, Twitter data, etc.). Short movies/animations are also welcome.

The specifications for the images:

  • Content: Must be relevant to CI-related research happening at U-M.
  • Orientation: Landscape
  • Size: At least 490 pixels wide x 270 pixels tall. Any standard image format (JPG, PNG, GIF, etc.). We may need to crop images to fit the space on the page. (Narrower images can also work, as long as the image is close to 270 pixels tall.)
  • Caption: Please include a short description of the image (ideally no more than 500 characters or 100 words), including the attribution you’d like displayed (e.g., image credit or bibliographic citation) and a statement giving us permission to use the image from the appropriate owner.

You can submit your image or movie here.
