CI Days 2010

On November 2 and 3, 2010, the University of Michigan hosted its first “Cyberinfrastructure Days,” where nearly 200 faculty, researchers, students, staff, and community members were introduced to cyberinfrastructure (CI) resources, services, methods, and use in research at U-M.

One goal of the event was to encourage community building and cross-campus connections among researchers. Feedback at the closing Town Hall event indicated that many people had discovered mutual interests with new colleagues at CI Days. A second, campus-wide event is being planned for next year, and the planning team will be coordinating smaller seminars and workshops to grow and maintain connections in the meantime.

ORCI maintains an announcement-only email listserv to keep those interested in research computing informed about events and opportunities. Information about how to join is available at http://orci.research.umich.edu.
